Texas A&M?s first round streak in the NFL Draft looks like it could extend another year.
Last week Luke Joeckel made it the third year in a row that an A&M player has been taken in the top 10 of the draft.
Now, senior offensive lineman Jake Matthews is being ranked as high as the No. 4 prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft according to?Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting and the Sporting News.
?Texas A&M just saw Luke Joeckel go second overall, and teammate Matthews carried a similar grade before he decided to remain in school another year,? Galko said. ?The right tackle in 2012, Matthews will protect Johnny Manziel?s blind side this season. Matthews has great feet, is a smooth lateral athlete and works upfield as a run blocker better than Joeckel.?
Matthews ranked behind three juniors who Galko expects to declare a year early for the draft. South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and USC wide receiver Marqise Lee all ranked ahead of Matthews who was the first senior on the list.
